Derek grew up in Michigan and Candice grew up in Alaska, but they met at Liberty University. After college, they both moved to Anchorage and were married in 1999. Derek works for the State of Alaska and Candice works part time for an accountant and they have two children, Landon and Grace.
After moving to Anchorage they attended and served in the church Candice had grown up in, but felt the Lord leading them to look elsewhere. In 2011, they started attending Cornerstone. Both have grown significantly in their faith and love the fellowship of their local church family. Candice is involved in the Women’s Ministry and Worship Arts Team while Derek plays guitar and bass in the worship band. Both of them help with the Cornerstone Kids and Student Ministries teams as well. They lead a life group in East Anchorage and love living in community with their Cornerstone Church family.
All of them enjoy the Alaskan outdoors and four wheeling with friends and family. It blesses Derek and Candice to see others mature in their faith, and they count it a privilege to serve with their church family in Anchorage.
